Vocabulary labels

This is a particularly useful slideshow when it comes to illustrating a semantic field. All we need is a picture with many elements belonging to this semantic field. There, we can highlight the elements, elicit them from learners and show them both in written and aural (audio) form.

This is an example of “Vocabulary labels”:

With this slideshow, we can:

  • Illustrate a semantic field.
  • Revise or pre-teach vocabulary.
  • Avoid using L1 or translation.
  • Elicit and teach. Books show vocabulary, we can keep it hidden until we decide to show it.
